beef and broocoli



  2 tablespoons (30 ml) cornstarch


  1 can (14 oz. / 400 g) beef broth


  2 tablespoons (30 ml) light soy sauce


  2 tablespoons (30 ml) oyster sauce


  1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable oil


  1 pound (450 g) boneless sirloin steak, cut into thin strips


  4 cups (900 ml) fresh broccoli florets


  1 garlic clove minced


  1 medium medium onion, sliced




  In a small bowl, combine cornstarch, broth, soy sauce, and oyster sauce and beat until smooth.  Set aside.


  Heat oil in large skillet or wok over medium-high heat for 1 minute.  Add the steak and cook, stirring constantly, for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the meat is golden brown.


  Transfer to a covered bowl to keep warm.
